topic dwg to step file conversion in Inventor Forum

Hi, I'm using the trial version of Inventor to try and convert some dwg files to stp files. The export function doesn't seem to be available to me? Is the export function unavailable in the trial version of inventor? Am I doing something wrong?

Trial version is fully functional.

File>File Save Copy As - type *.stp

But first you have to have proper geometry. Did the *.dwg pass Quality Check (Green check mark ✅ in browser).

Can you Attach the original *.dwg file here?

Hi Timothy,

This could be a user profile issue or Windows security issue. It is hard to tell. Try this trick real quick to see if it works. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables -> create "DYANMIC_LOAD_APPLETS" and set it to 0. Restart Inventor. Does it work now?

Many thanks!
