Hi! This sounds like a Windows user profile or a network security related issue. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and the graphics driver is updated. Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as Admin."

If above does not work, try mapping the network path as a logical drive. Can Inventor open the files from the mapped drive?

Many thanks!

Hi,

After upgrading to Inventor 2022 we encountered an issue, the assembly became unopenable after time when working on the server.

We are creating and storing files on a local server with fixed IP. Our workflow is we create a root folder with all the parts and main assembly. Then we create sub-assemblies with demote function, that are organized in proper folder structure. Then engineer works with these assemblies to create documentation etc. ROOT with parts and main assembly -> demote -> another folder (usually 2 -3 steps away).

This year we have gotten into a problem, where the demoted assemblies become unresponsive. They are accessible for a couple of weeks. After a period they can't be opened - the inventor gets stuck on loading in the assembly. And kicks out - not responding. Which makes access to any drawing made for assembly in-editable. The main assembly in the root folder is still working fine. The part files are never moved/renamed in any of the steps.

Has anyone encountered such an issue, what might cause it?

Any solution to recover these files?

Brg,

G.Grasis

Hey,

The inventor has no problem accessing files in the directory. Part files can be opened freely. Did a test run yesterday. Where I created a new assembly in the same directory with broken ones from exact same files. The newly created assembly had no issues being worked with. From this, I conclude that the issue exists only with assemblies, and its somewhat time sensitive.

Hi! I am sorry I don't understand the issue. So it happens mainly with assembly files. Is the folder path plus file name less than 256 characters? Is there any system process (AntiVirus or security or network control) dictating how the files can be saved?

Many thanks!
