Inserting fitting into pipe segment

Hello.

I know the function "connect fttings"->"insert fitting" for placing a fitting between two others. But this does not work if I want to put it on a pipe segment. My idea is to insert a node on the route so that the segment is split and there I want ot insert the fitting. How to achieve that or is there another practice?

Can you share a picture of what you are trying to do? It sounds like you just want to add a fitting inline? You should be able to just use "Place" fitting and drop it in the line.

@CGBenner, picture shows the route and the node where the fitting needs to be inserted. Yes, we can talk about placing it inline.

I am actually able to connect it directly to the end of a segment or another fitting, but not inline. I tested other custom made fittings I created in the past and it works properly. Do you know what could be the reason or what is enabling the possibility of placing inline?

Thank you for the picture, but it is still hard to see what the problem is. Are you trying to place the fitting while still editing the sketch?

In this video I place a tee from Content Center inline and rotate it. Next, I edit the sketch (sorry for looking a bit clumsy) and add a Node. Then a place another instance of the same Tee on the node and spin it to a new rotation.

@CGBenner, yes, it works with my custom built fittings, but not with the newest one i created. So, something must be different on this one compared to the others (that i figured out right now):

What is needed to be able to put a fitting inline is that the connection point when authoring is at the end of the fitting and not in the center - P1 shows wrong, P2 shows correct.
