Hello Admaiora, i saw you did two kinds of scaling in the manual.
first you put only vertical line which streched only the height?

i thought it also did scaling on the vertical side.

could you please explain the purpose of the vertical line scaling?

ANd what is the purpose of the diagonal you built and the center point moving again?

Thanks.

You have to get the proportions rights (in a photo editor). (100:30 is not equal to 97.59 : 29.48).

Then you can scale in Inventor with the scale command, using a correct scale factor

Hello, yes i will retake the photo.

My main problem is that when i surround the photo with a rectangle and do scaling it only scales the rectangle as shown in the UPDATE first post.

Where did i go wrong in evenly scaling in both directions?

Thanks.

Hi!

Even If you take the photo in a centered position, perpendicular with the part, the image will have some degree of distortion.

Probably it will be easier to fix the photo in an image editor first, and after that is easier to carry to Inventor with the correct dimensions.

If you post the image, we can help to fix the image or send me the file by private message.

It depends on the Base Point you choose in the command(the point you will click will preserve its position).

Actually not a big issue, you can constrain your rectangle wherever you want

In attach you have the image cropped to the right scale and proportion.

Insert it in the sketch and add a dimension, as the image below.

I answered this in your other thread, but to summarize: scan your sheet of paper with a flatbed scanner at a known DPI, then crop your image as necessary and import to Inventor. Use the known DPI and known image data (length x width in pixels) to determine the overall length and width of the image, then dimension the outside of the image to that size. At that point, whatever you've drawn on the sheet will be exactly to scale.
