inventor 2026 drawing-retrieving dimensions

In all the versions prior to 2026, when a dimension is retrieved from a model in one view, it doesn't show up in another. Why are all dimensions showing up again in all views? We cannot over-dimension a part due to tolerances. This was brilliant in the past, but now I must wade through all the dimensions in every view

Hi, can you describe the workflow steps for this and share some screen images? Is this happening on all 2026 files? And (last one, I think)... are you retrieving sketch dimensions or model dimensions on your part?

Hello again... your link did not post. If you use the Video embed tool in the menu you should be able to point to the video file on your computer and embed it into your reply.

Hi! This was implemented as an enhancement by the user request. Now the user will need to control which model dimension is shown at what view.

Is there a way to disable this? I can choose this without replicating the
dimensions. This is a way to teach others that you cannot replicate a
dimension on toleranced dimensions. I would all for a way in app options,
etc. to disable this replication##- Please type your reply above this line

Dimensions cannot be retrieved more than once in a view. It should be the same with the rest of the views. Was there a single person wanting this change? Was it an overwhelming request? It is driving us crazy with clutter, etc., that the dimensions retrieved in one view show up again to wade through in another. It would be super helpful to have this option in app options at least. If anyone wanted the dimension in another view, the drawing would be against the ASME std unless reference (in parentheses) and could be added manually. To me and many of my colleagues and students, this is a step backward.

We also cannot select features to retrieve dimensions from in a sketch. This used to be an option. Why is it no longer an option/grayed out? If we could select each feature in the part beneath each view to retrieve the dimensions and go through the features one by one, this really helps when there is NO INPUT SHEET or I designed the part myself. I know how to roll a part back and do this, but the auto centerlines are where I will have my endpoints of my dimensions on the finished drawing.
