Parts List, mark numbers ( instance properties) question

Before I go reinventing the wheel, could someone kindly confirm for me that Inventor can or can not give us this result out of the box.

With a weldment frame:

I want to have parts rolled up to show an item qty for each member that is the same part number ( ITEM QTY = 2 as shown)
I want to assign part marks for each instance to mark them with unique mark numbers, I can do this using Instance Properties
I want to list the mark numbers for each part number as shown in the parts list ( M01, M08)
- This does not seem possible without manual input or some iLogic to automate this.
- So this is the part I'm asking about, is there a way to do this "out of the box" ?

to include "comma separated list of values"

Hi Curtis

I managed to achieve part of your goal.

The markings in the view are ready.
However, I'm having trouble getting these items on the parts list and I admit I don't remember how to achieve this.

Balloon descriptions are just a matter of defining the style appropriately in S&SE.
However, at the moment I do not know how to change the content in the table from "various values" to an actual list of these values.

Out of curiosity, I'm curious - why do you need the instance property?

If you use the Reuse command during the modeling process, with the appropriate parts list composition, you'll receive the same item numbers, piece length, and quantity for the corresponding profiles.

I could be wrong but I believe you will need to use Group Settings to do that. Please feel free to share the example files here or send them to me directly at johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand it better.

Thanks everyone (and extra thanks @kacper.suchomski for the extra effort of setting up your own data set) , I had intended to include my simple set but got distracted, but here it is, the files are Inventor 2025 files.

I tried to configure the group and substitution settings, but I can not get them to give me the list of Mark Numbers.

But admittingly it's been a long time since I've looked at those settings, so I might be forgetting something.

I'm exploring a workflow for someone else. And while I am using the Frame Generator Reuse option, the goal is to have a unique identifier for each piece in the assembly, and maybe use the instance property to tie it to the assembly weldment part number, and also allow the part numbers/files names to stay the same, while having mark numbers that could be renumbered/reordered during revisions to the drawing that don't impact the part.

I'm not sure if this is way we want to go, but as a first step I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an option to get these results with the out of the box tools before going further.
