How do I make changes to the authored part that is published to the Custom Content Centre

How do I make changes to the authored part that is published to the Custom Content Centre, as I have this problem below?

When I save in T & P authoring, it does not update to the part in Custom Content Centre.

Also, what is the nominal size? Is it the fitting size?

Can you explain a little more of the problem that you are seeing, it is hard to tell from the picture exactly what is not working. Usually, Nominal Size does indicate the fitting size, depending on how that part was created and published. If you have any doubt, attach your part file here and the experts can take a look.

Suppose I want to make a change to my T & P part authoring. Say, changing the engagement length: do I simply make the change, save, and check in?

The top image shows I started my route on the fitting where is say 47 mm but when it sweeps it goes back beyond the part?

Ah! Thanks for the clarification. To do this, what you need to do is open or place any size of the fitting from the Content Center, and save it "As Custom", so that it is no longer a library part. Instances from Content Center that are placed "As Standard" are not editable. Once you have the part available, you can make any changes to the geometry, or to the authoring. Once you have made those changes and saved the part, go back to the Family in the Content Center Editor. Right mouse click on the Family, and select Replace Family Template. It will ask for the new template, and you will find and select the fitting that you just modified. If it all goes well, the changes you made should propagate to the entire Family table. In my experience, I found it best to make simple changes, and not too many at one time. I think Inventor gets confused if the new template is drastically different from the original and the replace function may fail. In your case, just changing the engagement should be fairly simple. Bear in mind that any changes will affect all instances of any size placed from that point forward. If you still need this fitting with the original engagement, it might be better to make a copy of the Family, and keep both available side by side.

Yes, I downloaded a supplier assembly, simplified it, authored it, and then published it to my custom content centre. But made a mistake on the engagement when authoring and can't update it.

Hello @CGBenner,

The problem is with the minimum engagement percent to max, I have published more parts now with a set distance and percent to max set to zero, and the extra tube length has gone.

This route is correct for how I want it to be. Just need to work out how to edit the existing authored parts; deleting doesn't work either.

Hi again, sorry for the delayed response. Without actually being at your PC and personally looking into your CC Editor, I can't figure out why the Replace Family Template is not working... sometimes even when I was doing it at my own PC it didn't work and I couldn't figure out why.

In those cases, I often had to make the changes to the original fitting's Authoring, Publish it again from scratch, and then test the new CC Family. If it works, then you can simply remove the original Family that is not working. BUT: You will have to use Replace Component on any of those original adapters you have already used, it won't automatically replace them. From the look of it, you haven't used too many of them yet because you found the problem right away?

Thank you for looking into this for me. After loading many more parts to my CCC through trial and error I have the results needed to produce the tube runs required. I will create a new simplified part with new name, author and publish to CCC. Should work I have been making variations of the same fittings.
