Yeah. Do I need to change it through that, and if so, how?

I am trying to edit the appearance of an existing content center part, and I'm not sure how to do it. I need to change the stiles circled in red to a different appearance. I've tried creating a custom part and then changing the family template and that doesn't work. What can I do?

Stiles are pretty much decorative pieces of wood. We have different sizes that we can use so we just select a size and place it. I just need the circled stiles to appear different than the other stiles so we can easily see them in an assembly.

What is the column properties mapping to? If you right click on the column header and go to column properties, is that column being mapped to member.color?

"Yeah"....as in it is already mapped to that? If so, then all you need to do is make sure you put in an appearance that you want for just those items and make sure the name is exactly as whatever appearance library you are using such as "Maple - Chocolate Brown, and not maple-chocolate brown.

Once you do that thought, if those files still exist locally, CC will look local first. If you go to tool Application Options > Content Center Tab and make sure to check the "Refresh out of date standard parts during placement" that will look to family and see if it differs from local.

Or you can place the component into the assembly and then do a Manage Tab > Content Center Panel > Refresh...this will refresh all std content and do a check, it should prompt for out of date items to be refreshed at that time.

Sorry, it is mapped to "member.color". I just tried what you explained and it worked perfectly, thanks!
