I have tried Cbliss's file and a couple of things, 1 the file gives me these errors below when trying to run it, and 2 I don't see any instructions in that ZIP file. Does anyone happen to have a working version of this file with instructions. "CornerPressRib.zip" amy help would be appreciated.

"Loading Catalog C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor\2017\catalog\Punches\CornerPressRib.ide failed."

I could re-activate CornerPressRib2.ide by saving it to the Punches catalog and moving it by mouse into the part file graphics area.

Some testing is needed for understanding, how it works

Good luck finding a comprehensive, intuitive instruction tutorial directly having to do with sheet metal gussets. Who do you think your dealing with here, Solidworks? Seriously, I too am in need of instructions to simply add gussets to a sheet metal part. I have been truing over any and all rocks searching of the answer on the internet including uTube and the Autodesk sites. Without jumping thru additional hoops, I like a simple tutorial how to designing in a sheet metal gusset.

Hi! I agree, if there is a better instructional video or a tutorial how to get it done. But, it may not help your case. Sometimes, depending on the geometric condition, the workflows showing in the videos may not apply to you. The best approach is providing an example part you are working on so experts here can help you further. Could you share a part?

I would if it wasn't so bloody simple of a request. The part is a 90 deg folded sheet metal part that is any thickness, this one is .062 thick stainless. The dim again is any, this one lets just say its 2.0" w x 4.0" lg. Now, you have a right angle folded part and I don't see where a model of this would be required to answer the basic question, where in Autodesk's earth is there a direct example for creating a gusset without diving into the metal composition.

Hi! Indeed, this is not a straight forward case. There might be other ways to do it. Here is a simple example from 2018. Please note that the fillets are not included.

Hello @Anonymous this is indeed not something that automatically places as a feature at the moment.

Here is a screencast of an easy way to achieve a good looking gusset.

I have been trying for the past couple days to get this into an iFeature but the reliance on the angular line has been messing with my placement options. Tried a bunch of different ways using the Normal to Sketch Rib with no luck. Might need to use a different command for the iFeature to function. Trying to distinguish what CBliss did years ago has me at a loss so far.

Saw that @Neil_Cross came up with a good approach right after I posted as well if he feels like sharing his watering can.

If anyone in the community can take a shot at making it work as an iFeature that would be impressive!

Great Screen cast, I had success at this some time ago myself I too could not get the ifeatrure cbliss did some time ago figured out so pretty much did it the same way you did, however once you make this rib you can no longer flatten the part due the addition of a 3D model feature I'm guessing is added to the geometry.

IMO a gusset should be a Sheet metal feature added to the software similar to Punches, Flanges, hem's etc.....

Has anyone put this on the wish list because its been in Solidworks since 2014 Come one Autodesk step up to plate and add this already!!!

Actually I found my answer from watching a TFI Cad Tips video. It was
straight to the point with a great illustrated methoud to add a standard
sheet metal gusset to a sheet metal part.

Hello @S_May I tried to get it to work using any methods I could think of and was unsuccessful. I then opened up the iFeature and tried to reverse build it with little luck. From the Edit iFeature there are a few commands used that might be enlightening.

It looks like they did a rib between two planes and maybe a clean up extrusion?

This is indeed a tricky one.

Does the add-in @tri_nguyen_bkhcm shared have a viable workflow for you?
