flat pattern and A side definition

i am am making some editions to my part but i seem to be getting 'A side definition' when i make a flat pattern, and this brings along an error which reads

im not sure what's causing this. Please help. Apologies if this is vague.

It appears that you have a derived component - did you set the correct Thickness?

Why did you use an Extrude feature in a sheet metal part?

What happens if you delete the Flat Pattern an A-side nodes, pre-select a face and click Flat Pattern again?

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates?

Can you attach the file here?

indeed it is the correct thickness

extruded in this image as i tried face and it did the same thing. so i was experimenting.

when i pre select face it still does it.

i have now installed updates and packs and will see very soon whether it works or not!

Not sure work is going to let me attach the file, i know this is unhelpful!
