Is there significant difference in the Inventor Professional FEA and the Nastran In-CAD environment? A cursory look over the Nastran In-CAD appears to have thermal loading where as Pro does not. Are there any other differences?

HI!

Nastran IN-CAD has a lot more types of analysis than Inventor Pro.
Besides the thermal as you say, (among some other nice capabilities), it can also run non-linear analysis, inventor pro can only create linear analysis.and modal.

Now, depend what you need to analyze...

Check here...

http://www.autodesk.com/products/nastran-in-cad/compare

Well, I have experimented a little.
Enough that I have abandoned Algor (Autodesk Simulation Mechanical) for Nastran-in-CAD.
