topic Surface Modelling in Inventor Forum

Hi all, I am 3 D modelling as surfaces a part to take into a separate Finite Elemtn Solver. By no means a drafting man but i can hack my way around inventor OKAy for the most. I'm extremely frustrated by surface modelling. I feel that i should be able to multi select. for instance if i make 4 non-contiguous lines on a sketch, i want to extrude these lines a certain direction to give me four surfaces. the way i'm doing it at present, i can only select one line, extrude it, go back and turn the sketch back on(visibility) then extrude the 2nd, 3rd and 4th as separate steps. I'm finding similar productivity problems with split face, trim and delete commands.
