Hi Lisa,

Thank you very much for taking the time to check that I’m not the only one seeing these anomalies.

Yes, I have been able to set the zoom angle parameter to a value from which the normal adjustment Ctrl+Shift+MW_Roll no longer recovers in a new part created in 2016, although at a different angle (about 100 degrees) – I guess this depends on part size and camera position, etc. This came about while I was trying to find a work-around the anomalies I’ve mentioned setting a Camera, without success.

As for the camerawork, It seems one can conclude that the following controls/dialog boxes in Studio:

- Set Camera to View

- Create Camera from View

- ‘Link to View’ tick-box while editing a camera

do not work as expected.

I believe it is normal to expect that once a Camera is set to, created from, or linked to a View, any shot created from that Camera should include everything in that View, until it is edited or modified otherwise.

At the moment, the only way to ensure a shot includes everything required to be in the shot, is to offset the Camera position by an amount equal to that introduced mysteriously and automatically (by Inventor) when setting the Camera using the above mentioned controls.

I understand that this behaviour is not new, and “it has been already existent there in previous releases”, but was hoping to see it fixed after all these years. I have attached a Zip file with some illustrations and a sample Part (created in 2016 version), if anyone would like to take a closer look.

Regards,

Daniel

(added attachment)
