I just upgraded from IV 2010 to 2016. I am trying to get the parts list to read the thickness, width and length of sheet metal parts. In the past we have used a add in program that worked really nice. It would give us the thickness in gauge (i.e. 11 ga. not 1/8" or .1196"), the width of the flattened part and the length of the flattened part. Any time that the part would change the parts list would automatically change. My add in program can't be used with IV 2016. I have been doing some reading in this forum trying to get an answer. It would now appear that IV 2016 does not need an add in and all that may be required is to insert some custom i properties. However I must be doing something wrong as I keep getting incompatible units in my parts list. I have typed Width for the name and <SHEET METAL WIDTH> in the value selected apply and it doesn't work. How can I achieve the attached with IV 2016 without manually typing information and that will update automatically? Thanks.
