Hi Jarott,

I guess this is implementation inconsistency. The welding symbol in your case is like a "retrieved" model dimension. It has to obey the weld beads when they are created at the same time. Unfortunately, I am not aware of a way to force them to behave the same.

Many thanks!

Why do weld symbol annotations not behave like 3D annotations in the Weldment Environment?

I cannot adjust what planes weld symbols exist in. I cannot adjust the direction of text either.

I cannot organize them because of this limitation. They simply shoot of into free space.

Lastly, I cannot edit weld symbol text styles through the Styles Editor.

I'm using Inventor Professional 2024.1.1 Build: 209

To be extremely clear about this: I am only talking about the weld symbols created inside the weld environment, while creating fillet welds, and selecting "link weld to the weld symbol".

"Welding Symbol" under the annotation tab (outside of the Weld environment) does let me to adjust plane and text direction, but in typical Inventor haphazardness, does not allow me to link the weld lol.
