Content Center - hex nut placement exits command

When I try to place a hex nut using CC, <right-click> <Change size> cancels the command. Clicking to place also cancels the command. The only way I am able to place a hex nut is to <right-click> <place>, which brings up the size table to select the desired size, which can then be placed - but only one instance at a time per command, hence a very slow process. This is different behavior than when using Auto-drop, which tries to autosize the nut, actually lets you place the nut - any size, correct or not - before changing its size, and allows placing multiple instances. I don't recall having this issue before 2024 - is this a new feature?

Here are the steps to replicate this, within any assembly (see if anyone else has this issue?):

Place from Content Center
Drill to Hex Nuts. You should then be transported to the screen with a hex nut magnetized to your mouse cursor, with the red auto-drop symbol present.
We just want to randomly place multiple instances. Click to place anywhere in open space, i.e. don't use Auto-drop. Blink. Command exits.

Or, use these steps for a different approach:

Place from Content Center
Drill to Hex Nuts. You should then be transported to the screen with a hex nut magnetized to your mouse cursor, with the red auto-drop symbol present.
Ah - I want to change the size first! <right-click> <change size>. Blink. Command exits.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?
