Constraints issue in Inventor 2016

hello,

I worked on solidworks 2013 and now working on Inventor 2016, i am facing issue with constraints

in inventor we have to use project geometry to get point on working plane.

suppose i drawn 2 lines on YZ plane i can constraint them

but after finishing that sketch when i select again YZ plane to sketch i cant constraint that two line, after selecting any constraint curser doesn't recognize that two lines, just like i selected another plane.

Please tell me is there any setting?

It sounds like you need to project the lines onto the new sketch.

In Inventor you have to use Project Geometry to get anything referenced from another sketch or face or edge. There are some autoproject techniques, but except for the Origin Center Point, I prefer to leave these off. (Dimensions can autoproject from face edges.)

i am using Product DS 2016 Pre.

My question is simple.. it is not about project geometry its about constraints.

if i draw two lines on yz plane i can constrain them but after finish that drawing when i select yz plane to sketch i cant constraint that two line.

Hi!

If you project geometry in sketch 2, from sketch 1, obviously the geometry projected depends from geometry position in sketch 1.
If you change sketch 1, sketch 2 will change accordingly.

However, if you want to break the dependency, just select the geometry projected and break the link. Then you can give new constraints.

BTW, i don't know what you are trying to achieve, but i believe that you can do it in better ways.

Simply attach your *.ipt file here.

Or attach your *.sldprt file here and I will create video of how to use Inventor to generate the identical geometry.

I suspect you are trying to fight the software rather than adapt to the fact that it is different software.

I spend half my day teaching SolidWorks and half my day teaching Inventor. Adaptation to the environment that I am working is critical to successful use of the software.

one more thing:

when i draw any object on any plane any finish sketch and again select that plane to sketch at right bottom it says: fully constrained

and then again i select that object to sketch it says: 10 dimensions needed
why this difference? object is on same plane.

For combining Spline point B to point A, look at the video.

For the constraints difference: It seems to me that you've drawn the circle, point and line in Sketch1. If you edit Sketch1, these constraints are missing.

But Sketch4 seems to have no content at all. Therefore it's fully constrained at start of sketching.
