I am having a issue with one of the constraints (Insert 7) of the attached set of files. I have tried several different constraints with little luck. The issue comes in when I attempt to constrain the 13TB4 assembly to the two pads.

By nature of the Governement procurement process, I a currently stuck using a very out of date version of Inventor Professional (2012) until our machines can be replaced and internal certification of software (Factory Design Suite 2015) is complete. I ask that you please suggest options that would work in Inventor 2012.

Thank you all for the help.

The holes are different distances?

1.625 and 1.624

Are you sure you want the holes drilled at the assembly level rather than at the part level?

I would be astonished to see the threaded holes in MIL-DTL-24558_PAD drilled and tapped at the assembly level.

I think I would change the beginning and ending conditions of Loft2 in M24142_5-001_BODY to Tangent for a more realistic part geometry.

Thank you JD, it was a significant figure issue between two different specs.

MIL-DTL-24558 states (paraphrased) to drill and tap the pad based on the information in the datasheet which in this case is MIL-DTL-24558/18.

As for the loft, I will look at it. I just recently started using Inventor and recently took a fundmentals course so I am still getting use to the program and what I can do.

Thank you for the suggestions.

All in all, this looks like pretty good modeling practices for a beginner.

Thank you, I had a good teacher.

Rusty Belcher with IMAGINiT Technologies was my instructor. We were using the student guides developed by Ascent. Rusty has been working with Inventor for years and taught us best practices throughout the class.

Double check those assembly level holes (open the part files - they will not be there).
