Hello,

I have read through these two previous posts and looked around but not found a solution yet.
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/cannot-publish-coupling-ipart-to-tube-amp-pipe-category/td-p/10432737
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/iv2010-cannot-publish-coupling-ipart-to-tube-pipe-category/td-p/2552207

I am attempting to create a new hose for the content centre as my current content centre doesn't have any. I followed the tutorial linked below step-by-step but, when it comes to publishing the part, it won't let me publish in the Tubes and Pipes category as you can see in the screenshot below.
https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-publish-a-custom-tube-pipe-or-hose-to-a-custom-Content-Center-in-Inventor.html

I must have access to the Tubes and Pipes add-in because I am able to author the hose successfully.

Also, I am able to use the Tubes and Pipes mode in assemblies. Your Connection 1 axis needs to be flipped so that it is pointing out from the hose. These axes do not show the flow direction, but rather the connection orientation, so basically always pointing out.

What this all tells me is that the problem is not the part itself, and your library does look like a Read/Write so also good... I did not see any other CC Libraries configured for the project though (in your image). Do you also have all of the standard libraries installed and configured?

Hello,

Thank you again for the continued support.

I believe I have the standard content centre installed, except it isn't in use. The content centre is in the expected location as you can see below, but we have our own content centre and Inventor uses that instead. As you can see in the previous image, the location of the content centre libraries is different the location of the standard content centre. This is why I wanted to create a hose because our content centre doesn't have one. Also, I changed the content centre path so that Inventor used the standard content centre shown below, and when I tried to create a hose in the assembly mode it said I didn't have the required content as you can see in the second screenshot.

Hi! I am not an expert on Tube&Pipe workflows. One thing I notice is that the part does not seem to have been authored as a Tube&Pipe component. You need to author it as such. Then publish it to Content Center.

Many thanks!

Hi @william_d7YCSV

I am thinking that the folder structure is missing so therefore it can not store the family in the correct location. I suggest to load a standard library that has the structure and then publish your hose. The folder structure will then be populated to your custom library. Unload after your done. In addition wherever possible I find it easier to copy a standard family, save as to custom library and change the data in the table to what you need. You then don't need to worry about publishing and authoring etc.

I have tried with a hose and tube and a pipe and none work.

@A.Acheson thank you. I don't understand the inner workings of inventor, I just know how to make models etc. but I tried some things that sound like what you are talking about. I went to the default project and tried messing around with content centre libraries and stuff. I tried making a new library, but I can't figure it out. Is it something to do with the fact that everything is unavailable in the below screenshot?

Hi,

When you set the network folder for your content centre file, did you copy the original .idcl files across.

By default the are in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2022\Content Center\Libraries.

Have a look in the program data folder. If the files are there try moving them to your network location. They should become available.

Once they are there, you should be able to copy a family from the Parker family into your custom library and modify it as mentioned previously.

That's kind of what I was thinking, Alan. One of the standard Libraries is for Routed Systems, and having this library present is probably what creates that folder structure. I think we may be on the right path, and it looks like the OP is working out how to get those loaded and configured to the project. Watching with great interest!

Hi @william_d7YCSV

Thanks for sharing the CC library screenshot. Indeed all the red files should be available. From your previous screenshot of the library folder there is no .idcl files. This I think is a problem as they contain the actual information. See this forum post as to what these extensions ".idcl-shm" and ".idcl-wal". I would suggest not to delete these files as the post suggests untill you find out where the .idcl have gone too. Did you copy files from somewhere else? It might be best to download a new set of cc library files and start a fresh as there is something wrong. Maybe other user can chime in?

Thank you everyone for the help. You have been very generous in spending your time in trying to help me. I am a bit busy doing other stuff at work right now, but I will try and investigate your ideas further in the future and hopefully I will come back with an answer as to what the problem is.

Thanks again!

Will.
