Hi all,

When adding pins to an electrical component, the wire connected to that pin orients towars the other pin that the wire is connected at the other end.

The connectors in the content center has a green arrow that protrudes from the pin and orients the wire outward from the pin in a direction that is apparently modeled using a work feature. I have investigated these componnets, even removing all sketches and extrusions surrounding these pins and can't seem to determine what work feature is used to allow for this orienting (still works with all of the surrounding geometry removed). How do I provide this type of work features for adding pins to my electrical parts and connectors.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Electrical components, like tube & pipe fittings, are "authored" after they are modeld and prior to being published to the Content Center. here is some info from Inventor help on how to get started. I've never done connectors, so I can't give you much more that this, sorry. http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-A80EA540-C53D-44B0-8EE3-298A9887387C

To modify the authoring of a part already in the CC, use "Open from Content Center" and select "As Custom". Save the part someplace you can get to. Open the part model and use the authoring tool... changing or re-authoring as needed. Save the part. Go to the Content Center Editor and right click on the connector and select Replace Family Template. When prompted, naviagte to the part file you just modified and select it. If all goes well, the part will be republished with the modifications you made to it.

I know also that, in Tube & Pipe, you can toggle the direction of a fitting connection during placement by hitting the space bar to reverse the direction. I don't know if this works in cabling, but it can't hurt to try?
