Hi! Strictly speaking, it is not open. It is more like deriving the 2024 ipt/iam to 2023 ipt/iam. Only geometry is linked and it cannot be modified in 2023. Once you move up to 2024, the files with such link will be dissolved.

Many thanks!

Hi Guys,

I have a question. My colleague is using the 2024 Inventor and I am using the 2023.3. Is it possible to open the Inventor 2024 files on my 2023.3? I have read on the Autodesk website that It can be open but when I try to open it, it said It cannot be open.

In the Open window, try setting "Files of type" to All Files. If you still get an error, post it here.

You can open those like regular imports in a year-version prior, where the model features will not be accessible but the geometry is all there as a reference. You may require something like Feature Recognition tools to recover editable features instead of dumb solids:
https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=9172877436288348979

Thank you so much. If I don't want to edit those part but instead export it to Revit using the BIM contents enviroment is it possible to do that also?
