SO I have windows 10 32 bit pc and autodest dont have any version of inventor in win10 32 bit.

inventor 2016 is only for 64 bit and older versions are not supported in win 10 . so when i try to install older inventor it say this is only compitiable with win 7/8 .

so when will win 10 32 bit softwere will be avilable?

Time for a new computer.. No really..

I'm actually surprised Windows 10 is even available in a 32 bit version..

Here is all they are saying about Windows 10.. Notice no date at all when it will be ready..

Just read the link you posted, that "Inventor 2016 is supported on Windows 10."

I am thinking to upgrade from win 7 to 10 but as i am reading on forum some users had a problems.

Should i wait for a while more or is it safe?

I am afraid that after upgrading to 10 i will have lot to do to run my programs on my pc - including inventor.

Anybody can advice about this?

If you're at 32 bit ..stay at Win 7 ....and consider looking for a 64 bit pc if possible with Win 10 ... just my opinion. Most things run better on a 64 bit system

i'm on win 7 at work and win 10 at home ...not a problem on either ..

so are you saying, you had at home win7 with installed inventor 2016 - upgraded to win 10 and everything worked fine after that?

I have win' 7 at work with 2016 ...and I have win's 10 and 2016 at home ... that I upgraded from win's 7 back in Sept and haven't had and issue yet with it

We are currently using Windows 10 for non-engineering uses. There are issues outside of Inventor that indicate Windows 10 should not be used. The worst of these issues is that Windows 10 does not correctly arrange Windows in, for example, various modes, such as “Side by Side”. For that reason we would not consider going to Windows 10.

Microsoft has been very slow to recognize these issues, so if you are considering “waiting” it could be a very long one. We do install all updates, so there is no such thing as a fix for this.

Also, Microsoft has designed access to arrangement of Windows in a totally incomprehensible place. You need to click on the Time function on the Task bar with your 3rd finger. This was a recent discovery because it is so out of place.

One thing Microsoft has done is make Windows 10 available on a thumb drive, whereas it was only available for download. However all their other software is only available for download. Autodesk is trying the same scam, but so far the dealer we work with had made Autodesk software available to us on thumb drive media for an extra amount. Most other software vendors are attempting to line their pockets similarly. Good luck if you have a disastrous crash and have to recover. You'll need an as yet to be released affordable download speed or be willing to be tied up for a week doing downloads. Other than that, such a process could put you out of business at some point if you must rely on downloads. It seems they might be trying to insure a method of placing us all back in the Dark Ages. Don't expect an alternative from Microsoft, as they will tell you there is none, at least for Office products. Grrrrrrr! Of course this all awaits the specter of competitors that see the opportunity.

We hope you are correct about the update. It has been unpredictable when selecting how windows are to be arranged how they actually are. That would impede progress in an ap such as Inventor.
