Diameter on circle not the same as a line with the same measure

When I tried to make a circle with a line that cut the circle in half, I noticed that the line was a bit longer than the diameter of the circle (around 0.01 mm) for example, I made a circle with the diameter 300 mm, and then draw a line at the thickest part of the circle such also was 300 mm. According to the measures the both should end and start at the same point, but when I zoomed in, I noticed that the circles diameter was only 299,987, not 300, as I typed in. Any other who has experienced this and have a solutions or is it only my computer which can't handle the program? (AutoCAD mechanical 2014)

How much training/experience do you have?

I´ve taken two courses resently in autoCAD inventor 2010 which is about 100 hours of usage of the program, so i would say that my knowledge is fairly good according to me.

Is your question AutoCad or Inventor? These are 2 separate programs.

here is a measure test i did, all circles is at Z=0 but when I zoom in onlu half of them accually is on Z=0

the question concerns autoCAD mechanical, I realized after the first commet that I was at the wrong part of the forum, but I got help anyways, so i didnt bother to move my thread. ant the reason why i posted wrong is that im new here and doesn´t know the drill, sorry if it bothers you.

I do not know of an CAD program where zooming in or out is an acceptable method of "eyeballing" Z=0.

How much training and experience do you have with AutoAD?

What is your viewres setting? (Hint: It is 1000, change to 20000.)

What does the List command report as the true z postion (Hint: Set Units to 8 decimal places.)

Delete everything except for a single entity that you find z not equal to 0 and attach the file here.

There is a program called AutoCAD

and

there is a program called Autodesk Inventor.

It is true that the splash screen or install of Autodesk Inventor 2010 included AutoCAD, but these are two entirely different programs. So a course in one is not the equivalent of a course in both.

A course in AutoCAD should include information on the variables viewres, list, units, regen.....trim....properties... ..

... I do not recall a lesson on zooming in and measuring by "eyeball"

How are you making the determination that there is a discrepency from expected values?

the program we used in the course was autodesk inventor, ant the program i´m using now is autoCAD mechanical.. but i change the numbers you mentioned to and now i my problem doesn´t exist enymore, thanks for helping!

Get this right now. Might seem like a small issue of little concern, but I have contact with a lot of employers who tell me that similar lack of attention to detail eliminates most resumes. Actually, carry on, as you were - they like discriminators like this, even though they complain about them. They don't have time to interview everyone....
