I think it's from "nesting" isolates.

I get a similar problem if I need to do an isolate on a chunk of stuff just to find the parts I want to isolate - it won't go step-by-step back, it will only undo the last isolate.

After I get burned a couple of times I will set up design views so I can get back to the "default" view I need (the default defaults always turn on every work feature and any unconsumed sketches and whatever else will make your day worse).

So 1.) make a design view for the visibilities you need as a base so you don't depend exclusively on "undo isolate" and 2.) go to the idea station and ask for more than just a single "undo isolate" (you'll need to come up with a better way to explain it).
