Sorry, i did search this but came up with some ambiguous and out of date information

Im building a second desktop machine for one of our engineers and I am by no means a hardware guru. We will be running Product Design Suite Ultimate 2016. My roadblock seems to be what video card to use. Ive heard the Quadro line isnt necassarily the best route even though it is recommended by Autodesk.

We run some pretty robust 1000+ part assemblies ......ive added a screenshot of a typical assembly

Can someone give me some experienced input on a card?? Make it easy.........just give me a no brainer Model Number so i can just go order this thing and stop yanking my hair out LOL

Thanks man......i appreciate the feedback, .btw money is no object lol. Ill hear more flack if my machine runs slow than i will for raising the cost of the video card

Money is always an object

But you should do just fine with a card like that..

Fast processor "core" speed/ plenty of RAM/quick data access speeds (SSD/fast network) are really critical..

To add to "mcgyvr's" post, go for the fastest "gamming" machine your budget allows. The one problem with Inventor is that within the modeling environment, Inventor can only use a single core of the CPU. So if your work is primarily assembly, go with the fastest clock CPU you can get. If you do FEA and Rendering, then Inventor will use all the cores you can throw at it.

The graphics card is only used within the modelling window to rotate, pan and zoom the model. A really fast Nvida GeForce 900 series and faster card will do.
