Hello guys,

I had created a sheet metal part but after that I wanted to convert it to standart part. But when I have converted it, there are still "sheet metal " properties

at the left part like "Face, cut". Normally in standart parts, there is no "Face and Cut" option. Is there a way to convert "face --> Extrusion " and "cut-> to Extrusion as Cut in otomatic way? Or I must delete "Face", and create a new Extrusion. But in that case, i have to draw everything again. Because holes in the surface of the product are creating problem in that case. Is there any simple way for that?

Best regards

I don't understand the problem?

What difference does it make if the feature is labeled as Cut or if it is labeled as Extrude?

I don't know actually,

My tutor told that I have to use standard part instead of sheet metal. Now I am not sure should I draw everything as standard part or only simply clicking "conversion" button is enough for that ?

Because normally standart part does not have Cut or Face option.

Another problem is that, after I convert it, I can not Edit feauture the Face, because that Face was belonging sheet metal part which has thickness of 7mm.

There is no option to make it 10 mm lets say

So, I should delete face completely keeping sketch constant, but in that case I have following problems as it is shown in attachment.

@Anonymous wrote:
I can not Edit feauture the Face, because that Face was belonging sheet metal part which has thickness of 7mm.

There is no option to make it 10 mm.

Thickness is simply a Parametric value - it can be edited like any other parameter.

But as Mark says, since you are doing this for an instructor - better recreate as instructed.

I think I would show the instructor how a Parameter can be edited - you might get some bonus points.

Manage>Parameters

Edit: Well,<STRIKE> I take that back</STRIKE> - I can edit the Thickness in the Parameters dialog box - need to go back to Sheet Metal Styles.

Edit #2: If I uncheck Use Thickness from Rule, I can then edit as any other Parameter.
