Why can't I dimension to this sketch?

Please see the screencast and the attached files. Something I forgot to show in the screencast is the fact that when you click on the section view bounding box, it requires an update. You update the part and then click on the section view bounding box and it requires another update. Repeat for an infinite update loop.

Hi,

I can't really figure out why the sketch won't dimension.

When you delete the breaks it will let you select the points of the sketch but it still won't dimension.

Making a new section view and a new sketch will dimension just fine.

Weird, I would love to see what the problem is.

But why do no need the sketch for anyway?

If it's only to dimension it then take a look at the screencast, you can do it like that.

I can't believe I didn't know about that "Intersection" tool! That is going to save me loads of time. Thank you! I still wasn't able to get the dimension to work from the centerline to intersection point. Any ideas?

Many thanks to @Frank-Oosterwaal for his solution to my prolem. I've uploaded a sceencast of how I will be fixing the issue. However, this doesn't really solve the question as to why the sketch cannot be dimensioned to. For the time being, I will be leaving this post as unsolved.
