I want to setup a template that when I bring in the views they would come in in different colors

More details/information please...

A fixed color? Different colors per part? Front view blue,rear view red? and whatever else you can think of to fully define your requirements.

When I bring the part into the IDW drawing I want it to come in as the color I have it in the part and I want to set up a template so that when I bring in a part it comes in red and have another template that when I bring in a part it comes in blue etc...

so two different thing... One template that the parts come in asthe color they are in the model and then templates that no matter what the color of the model it will come in as the color set in the IDW template.

Just to be clear...

When you say color... do you mean Shaded color or simply line color? The latter is easy to setup while the former would have to be controlled by the model as a Design View Representation.

I want the part to come into the IDW the color it is in the model

I would like to set up more than one template, one that has the model come in as red and one that has it come in as blue

Having all model linework come in always red or blue is simple... Just change the color of that layer (visible) in your template.

Having the linework come in as per the apperance color is a totally different story..

could you give me a step by step please, to changing the layer to show the color I would like for the Model or part to be as I bring into the drawing.
