Right click and select Aligned.

But for manufacturing - that is almost certainly the wrong way to dimension a hexigon.

A Hexigon is usually dimensioned across flats, not length of flat.

In your image - you already have a 20mm dimension across flats, so all you need is a vertical or horizontal constraint on one of the lines.

Hi there!

I am trying to dimension hexagon

Here it is

Inventor gives me the black projection, but I need the green dimension

How do I achieve this?

thanks

Hi Shiva,

here two methods to do that.

This second, just click and drag when you see the symbol on your cursor.

Try to accurately measure the "wrong way" with calipers.. You can't.

The "right way" is easy to accurately measure...

There really isn't anything wrong with using that dimension in your part file sketch.. But in your 2D drawing you should dimension across the flats so that "quality control" can easily measure that to ensure the part is in spec.
