Inventor simulation

Dear,

I am trying to make a simply supported beam in inventor.
When you make a simply supported beam in fusion 360, you use a fixed constraint but leaf the Ux and Uz movement open.
But with inventor you don't have this option does any one now how you do it in inventor?

Dear,

I am just trying to draw a simple rectangular beam with on both sides a simply supported constraint.
If I choose for fixed and then leave x open on bought sides a get an error "not enough constraints".

Is this a school exercise - or is it a real world problem you are trying to solve.

I can present you a solution in Inventor, Fusion 360, Nastran InCAD, SolidWork and Creo. (and hand calcs if really motivated)

The results will be equivalent in all programs.

But first I need your file(s) to gauge your experience level with setting up an analysis.

Dear,

I am a last years degree student at the UHI Moray college.
I have a final project about FEA programmes that I have to compare with each other and find the best one for composites.
Then the college will use the best program for a specific cours.
If you could provide me this information that would be really helpful.
I already have done a lot of research but I can't get a solid work license.
I have the Creo, fusion , nastran and inventor already installed.
My biggest problems is to found the correct constraint.

Inventor does not do FEA analysis of composites.

Still waiting for your *.f3d and .ipt files, but if your design intent is FEA of composites - you will need to find other software.

Dear,

I am really thankful for your help but I am not starting with the compositis until I now how to make constraint for a normal beam.
For the fusion 360 is a built in beam just fixed and a simply supported fixed with the x and z direction free.
But how do a make this kind of constraints (built and simply supported) in Inventor, Creo,...?
I hope you can help me with this, because I keep getting errors a bought the fact that I don't have enough constraints when I want to do simply supported on the bought ends of my beam.

This is mine Inventor en Creo file he doesn't want to upload.

In creo I also do not now how to add the graffiti.
Bought are not working because I don't have enough constraints.

You can attach other file types by -

right clicking on the filename and selecting Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here.

I think you are looking for the setting of Detect and Eliminate Rigid Body Modes.

This part is rather thin and long. Use caution in interpreting the results.

Also, in the real world - parts are not generally supported along an infinitely thin line.

Do you now how I make that setting "Eliminate Rigid Body modes"?

I ahve excases to Inventor and nastran in cad at college.

I have tried to install it on mine computer this internet but now he doesn't found any internet any more not at college and not at home.

I hope you can help me.

The intended constraints are not fixed on all three axis.

Anyway with detect and remove as suggest you should solve it

For anyone who might come across this thread in a search.

The reason the analysis needs to be set to Detect and Eliminate Rigid Body Modes (motion) is because the mesh is not always perfect. The part is free to move along Z axis and because the mesh isn't perfect - it will slide one way or the other on Z. But the analysis is of rigid body, so a weak spring is added to remove the motion.
