Let's not quibble over semantics, there is a bend, albeit one large one across the whole part. Although there isn't an actual feature labelled Bend or Flange, the part is showing the design intent. I was hoping there would be a simple operation that could be performed that would enable the creation of a flat pattern, but it looks like that isn't the case.

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that the faces aren't tangent, because they are. That line is there because I operate mostly in the Shaded with Edges visual style.

I've included the original part. Hopefully that will be enough for you to give a decent look at it.

Hi everyone, this part has me stumped, I was hoping somebody could have a go at unfolding it for me. This is a 2016 part. Thanks in advance.

The part is not modeled correctly.

A bent part, must of course, have bends.

If those planar faces are supposed to be tangent - the original file would make it easer to correct (rather than a derived part).

And cuts should be perpendicular to the flat. (Just like in the real world.)

First thing that I noticed is that your first sketch was not fully constrained (and too complex).

Maybe something like this is what you are after.

Thanks for taking a look. After looking at the second part I sent you I realize the sketch is definitely unconstrained. That was a result of me pulling that particular feature out of a multi-solid body and it lost some of its references. It's debatable whether or not it is too complex.

You're part is exactly what I was after. While I was waiting I also came up with another method. Are there any major problems with the way I did this one?
