Inventor Professional 2016

All hotfixes and updates installed

I have a multibody (1368) part file that was imported from a third party step file. I want ot use "Make Components" to create an assembly, however in the dialog box it shows that it will be using the solid names (solid1, solid2,...) instead of the browser node names (see attahced pic). is there a way to get it to name the components with the browser node names?

Hi Bg45,

I have this iLogic example on hand, which might help:

http://inventortrenches.blogspot.com/2012/02/ilogic-to-rename-all-solid-bodies.html

But give me a bit and I'll post back an example that grabs the browser names.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis
http://inventortrenches.blogspot.com

You can also ask to provide step but as a assembly and not as a multisolid... and your problems are solved... because in assembly enviroment is easy to do it..
