How to export welds as separate part to autodesk mechanical simulation

Hello

When i open the inventor file in Autodesk Mechanical Simulation, all welds are recognized as a single part. How can i get each of them as a separate part?

Could you please help me yo solve it?

Hi Mohammad

You're right, Inventor welds are assembly features, and they will be exported as one single part or body.

There is a workaround as you reference.

Step 1: Derive the Weldment as a part, keep each solid as a single body;

Step 2: Export the derived part as STEP file

Step 3: Open the STEP file, you will see the beads have turned into separated bodies;

Step 4: Select those weld bodies, and make component to turn them into separated parts.

I know it's too tedious, I think you can submit an idea on Inventor idea station and Simulation idea Station.
