Hmm. I didn't expect that strange behavior.

No movement at the gear, if the turbine is rotated by mouse. But all is rotating well, if it's moved by constraint angle named Drive (No need for unsuppressing).

New 2015 IAM attached, all other files unchanged.

I have a primitive of a worm and gear driven by a Savonius Wind Turbine.

It's only to demonstrate the principle, we haven't worked out ratios yet. Can I, without the helix on the worm and the teeth on the wheel, make them simulate relative motion when the Turbine is turned?

You can use a Motion constraint (Type Rotation). The ratio can be set as personal choice.

Thanks Walter, but there is an issue.

No matter which way I try that, I can turn the wheel which turns the screw and turbine. It just doesn't work the other way round (which is what would happen in life).

I did try pack-and-go and it created an IPJ file which this page will not attach. Here's a ZIP instead.

I am glad to see that others see the same fault I see. I get a little paranoid some times when I see things wrong and others don't .

However, Mr A. D. Inventuh please take note, we still seem to have a constraint which works in one direction and not the other.

Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks
