Does anyone know how to run a section of flexible hose in tube & pipe in a straight line with only the ends curved.

Not all flexible pipes run in a curved manner.

I want to run a section of hose from a pump, curved to a wall, then straight along the wall and curved again to a tank.

sbromley,

I don't know if you can ever create a straight section of flexible hose, as the hose is modeled as a 3D spline sketch. However, you can create points where the sketch must pass through and use that to control the route. Also, I believe you could create the 3D sketch ahead of time and use that as a route, at least that works with the rigid piping, but I've not tried that with the flexible hoses.

Whichever way you choose, you could make a cut plane, offset the profile of the shapes as a construction line and then pattern points along the line. Use these to help create / control the route. Don't have the most experience with Tube and Pipe, but I have used this for Cable Harnesses and this should give you some more control over the design. Hope this helps and have a most blessed day!

Peace,

Pete

Flexible T & P uses a "3D Spline" line for the route path. The best is to place a number of grounded work points and use it. If you place enough grounded work points that are in a straight line, that section of the line will become straight. You will need at least 5 grounded work points. Two at each end and one in the middle should create the straight line.

If you have some form of hose/chassis brackets, open the part and place a work point in the part. Then with the T & P, place a grounded work point at the work point for the five brackets. This should straighten out this section.
