topic Adaptive axis in Inventor Forum

The part attached (Inventor 2014) is constrained in an assembly with the YZ plane and the X axis matching those of the assembly. In other words it is free to rotate about the X axis as a rigid body. The paramer "Alpha" controls the angle that the "T axis" forms with the local Y axis, and along with it the red geometry changes, while the black geometry remains unchanged.

I would like to remove the Alpha parameter and make that angle adaptive, in such a way that the T axis is always parallel with the assembly's Y axis.

Can someone show me how to do it?

Perhaps sketch blocks can do it. I don't know enough about your intent, but look at my 2014 attachment

Sorry Walter I don't understand what you've done. I see you turned some geometry into two blocks, but I can't figure out the point.

Down here I attached an assembly in which the previous part is fully constrained. Try changing the value of the angle constraint "Beta" to, say, 30 degrees. Then edit the part and put the "Alpha" parameter to the same value, and go back to the assembly. The part has rotated but the red rope has counter-rotated to stay always vertical, and it has streched its end to remain linked to the black dot.

I want to achieve this automatically, in other words changing "Beta" should change "Alpha" accordingly without having to go to the part and changing it manually.
