Drive function doesn't work properly in Autodesk Inventor 2024 but good in 2023

There seems to be a glitch with the Drive function with Autodesk Inventor 2024 when animating a Geneva Wheel assembly. An assembly with identical parts works (drives/ rotates) in version 2023 well, but not in version 2024. I've tried modelling the parts a few times again and assembling the 3 parts again in 2023 and 2024 but it keeps stopping in 2024 when a part contacts with another part in the assembly. It works great in 2023 version. It may just be a setting. Please, please advise as I'm trying to teaching students in my class.

Please find attached a Zip file containing 3 parts and 1 assembly.

The Drive (Angle) works in Autodesk Inventor version 2023, but not in version 2024 for the attached Geneva Wheel assembly.

One of my students did find a work-round: if the fillet on the drive wheel is changed from being tangent (default) to smooth, it works!!!

I don't know why 2024 won't drive past the collision point unless the fillet is G2 instead of tangent. However, a Geneva mechanism should not have a collision point between the members! The design needs to be improved so this will not occur.

Also, I note that your 2023 install has no updates applied... should be updated to 2023.4.1

There shouldn’t be a collision point, just a contact point where the drive wheel pushes the Geneva wheel. There is no problem with any version 2023 at home or at college just version 2024.

Also I will get the college to install the latest version of 2024 next week. I only downloaded the home version of 2024 this week at my house. Thank you for your assistance.

A better technique that Contact Sets is to use Environments>Dynamic Simulation 2D Contact Joints.

Extract and open the Attached assembly (in Inventor 2024).

Go to Environments tab and select Dynamic Simulation.

Click the Play button in the Simulation Player...

Thank you, but I'm trying to teach the Drive (Angle) function which works in 2023 but not 2024 on the exactly same parts and assembly. A work round for some of the students is changing the fillet from being tangent to smooth G2. Not ideal but obviously it's the maths/ coding that has changed.
