Inventor hangs while opening program

Hello,

I'm having an interesting/annoying issue. When I open the Inventor program, it gets through the splash screen, and opens up a session window, but hangs there, halfway to the home screen. The attached screenshot is where Inventor hangs. During the hang, the program is unresponsive; no F1, no opening models/drawings, no minimizing the window, no closing the window, no nothing. I have to close it down through Windows Task manager. During the hang, Windows Task manager still says Inventor is "running" and it isn't using much CPU or RAM. It doesn't matter whether I'm connected to a network or not, or what project is set to current.

However, if I start the program via double clicking on a model or drawing, it opens fine. I close whatever model, and my home screen shows up like it's supposed to, and the program continues to operate. So I obviously have a workaround, but the program can't open itself properly. Any suggestions?

BTW, I'm running Windows 7 laptop with a i7 vPro cpu, and 16G of RAM. Inventor 2015 was installed about a year ago, issue started earlier this month. Also, don't suggest uninstalling; that's a 4 hour headache to get the Autodesk suite off (shame on Autodesk for making it nigh impossible in the first place); and then I have to reinstall. Not worth it for an annoyance.

Go to Tools>Application Options and turn off the Home screen.

Have you installed all Service Packs for your version of Inventor?

Yup, that worked. I don't know why that "My Home" functionality would break, but oh well. Thanks!

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates?

There are several for 2015.
