U/Ms are set to metric, but in the antipodes we do not use the comma as the decimal indicator, we use what we call a 'full stop' (period).

Changing decimal indicator

My new template persists in using a comma (',') to indicate the decimal point. When I create a new drawing using the template I get:

How do I resolve this and get a period as my decimal point?

Thanks

Here are 2 articles that you may want to review to understand what's going on so you can correct the issue and avoid it again in the future.

1. This article covers why you get the styles conflict and how to correct it.

2. This article covers how to avoid it completely.

Just out of curiosity, is your units of measure set to inches or millimeters (metric)? Metric u/m's will show a comma by default. Check that first as it would be an easier fix than going through the styles editor.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the effort you put into those two articles. I am sure that I am not the only one who appreciates that.

FTR, I seem to have successfully changed the Decimal Marker

but when instantiating a new drawing from the template, our Old Friend still appears

Other than that, things look good - and I can live with that..

Thanks again.

For information, the correct separator is the comma, (BS EN 8888:2020 ) The use of a point (full stop, or period mark, if you will) is deprecated as it is not deliberate enough.
"5.2.2 Presentation of decimals
Dimensional values indicated in decimal notation shall use a comma as the decimal marker."
For example, in reprographics if there is detritis on the scanning glass it may appear as a point if it is inconveniently placed when the drawing is laid on. It is also possible that if using a rolling element pen, no ink is discharged when a dot is made.
