Error occurs when checking the assembly into Vault 2015 R1.

Top Level Assembly, most likely corrupted?

Software :

Inventor 2015 - Seems to be up to date.

Vault Professional 2015 Build 19.1.13.0

Can you confirm if you have at least Inventor 2015 SP2/Update 2? For Inventor 2015, there is SP2 and Update #5.

Build: 223, Release 2015 SP2 Update 5 - 04/29/2016

Update.

Had the error on a lower-level sub-assembly - but somebody else was working on a sub-assembly of the sub-assembly.

After closing and undoing the check-out the error seems to have been cleared up on both assembly files.

Marking the issue as resolved.
