I'm guessing you want the dim at the same alignment at the 2.4 or 4 dimension? If so, try to use Baseline or Chain dimension instead of a plain Dimension.

Hello,

I am trying to do an aligned dimension from these two points, but no matter what I do it wont go in the direction that I need. Not horizontal or vertical dimension. Any advice?

Sometimes when I get this issue ... I make a sketch with a smallllllllllllll line at the spots I need it dimension to come from. You can't see the line once you make the dimension

Also did you try doing the smaller dimension first? Might be easier to pick those points if nothing is there to interfere with picking them

It's a work around not a fix

Attach your parts ..maybe it might be something easier that can be done to resolve it.

Hi,

If you want to align it to the 2.4 or 4.0 dimension direction, you can use Chain dimension. Select the direction line first then the two points. It takes a little effort to align the dimension to the direction. Remove the unwanted dimensions at last.

Please let me know whether this is what you want.

Thanks a lot,
