topic Applying Rotation Parameters in an Assembly in Inventor Forum

I have an sub-assembly with a motor that drives a cam plate. A link is connected to the cam that pushes a bracket with (3) vertical pins. The pins slide in a vertical motion in and out of a fixed plate in an upper level assembly. The sub assembly functions as would be expected using the "Drive" options on parameter (joint type connections). However, when I move to the upper level assembly and make the sub "Flexible" the rotational parameter I set on the motor shaft at the sub level will not show "Drive" as an option. I set a "cylinder" option on one of the pins that move in the upper level plate. I can also make the linkage move in the upper level using my mouse. I had this working prior to a redesign, but have not been able make it work again. I don't understand why the "Drive" is not available in the upper level assembly, either in the "Relationship" or in the "Flexible" sub-assembly. Would appreciate any help.

Regards,

Dale Bennett

Trapeze Group
