2017 leader text orientation

We just upgraded form 2014 to 2017 this week and I can't find how to set the orientation of the leader text. I want it always horizontal (like on the right) but when the leader is vertical the text is also.

I cannot seem to find a setting in the styles for that. Anyone know where that is?

Styles Manager ... under Manage ...or you can RMB on the leader and click edit

What setting in the style editor changes it though?

I have been through everything I could find in that editor and cannot find the setting for orientation of the leader text.

that is set to Horizontal, yet the text is still vertical.

I'm not sure how iLogic came up, but I agree I don't think that's the issue.

I was just meaning to suggest that you attach a file for others to look at, otherwise it's kind of just a guessing game.

Ahhh, I see. That was my fault, I was trying to be clever and ask for the drawing with out asking for the drawing.

In any case just click on the grip I've Highlighted and then you can drag this leader to be horizontal. If you click the other grip, it moves the text, but doesn't change the orientation.

It looks like all new leaders are coming in horizontal by default now though, is that correct?

I know how to rotate the leader but I want a vertical leader with horizontal text like mdavis22569 showed up there.

I cheated ....

I make an empty leader ... and put in my own text

the 2nd time I did it was a text sketch symbol that I make a leader with as a work around.

I'm trying to figure out a real way to do the cheated way. I don't believe it's possible... but I'm looking

Yeah, I saw his post after I posted, and noticed the vertical landing line with horizontal text, which is a different result. I'm taking a 2nd look at this now, but I think maybe there was a change in how it works, as I'm comparing setting against Inventor 2015 and it looks like different results with the same settings?

I guarantee you the leader text used to stay horizontal regardless of the leader orientation. It worked in 2014 but 2017 won't and it is driving me crazy.

I see that as huge step back not an improvement if you can't override the text orientation in relation to the leader line.

Only work around I have currently is using a sketch symbol ...

put it in the idea's station to bring back.
