Fusion 360 can import inventor files and export to sketch-up format.

It might be worth noting that due to recent changes in Fusion License - this is not possible with free Personal license of Fusion 360..

Hey!

Here is a list of files that Google Sketchup can Import.

https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/3000153

What you maybe can do is export your files to 3D studio Max -> Export to 3DS - Import into Google Sketchup.

I'd much rather export it to STEP or something and let the customer figure it out. But that's personal.

I don't see a direct path.

It looks like Sketchup Pro can import dwg or 3ds files with various limitations. See: https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/3000153

Inventor can export a dwg file. You might have to edit it in AutoCAD to accommodate the Sketchup limits.

I don't see a way for Inventor to export a 3ds file directly, but 3dsMax can import Inventor files. You should have 3dsMax if you bought a Suite. See https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-3DA51A42-AB12-48D6-B6D5-A82B481CD686-htm.html

I would not expect to get any useful models back from Sketchup. Instead, have your client make 2d prints or buy a copy of Sketchup, measure the changes, and edit your Inventor components.

There may be 3d party tools that improve the workflow.

according to the link above you can import dwg in sketchup have you tried exporting a dwg in inventor?

you and your client need to test this workflow and see if its acceptable

There are plugins to allow sketchup to import step (stp/step) files...

That would be the best choice IMO..

Here is one.. There are others I'd suspect..
