The content center libraries (.idcl) that you have on the network, are they from an earlier version of Inventor? Did you copy over the 2015 standard ones that get installed on your machine (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Content Center\Libraries) to this network location?

We just upgraded to Inventor 2015 to coincide with one of our major customer's systems. We run Inventor stand-alone, without Vault. I was trying to set up the content center libraries, including some new custom ones for Aluminum Association standard tubing and channels, and have run into a snag. I have a copy of our content center libraries installed on our network drive, where everyone stores their files and access the templates. Unfortunately, when we set the application options to that location, I can no longer see the contents of the content center files. The access options are set to Inventor Desktop Content, with the appropriate path to the network drive defined. When I check the "configure libraries" section under the project, all of the standard libraries are listed as "Not available" under the access column.

When I researched how to correct this, all of the responses said to run something called the "Autodesk Data Management Server Console", which is a part of Vault and thus not installed on our machines, as we don't use Vault. How do I correct this problem so everyone can see the same content center libraries if you don't use Vault? Without everyone looking at the same content center files, how do you pass custom section profiles around? We all see the same templates, material properties, and other similar files without any problems, just by setting the correct paths under the the application options.

Thanks

Good catch. The libraries turned out to be the 2013 versions, which had been our previous production version. I swapped in the new versions from my desktop 2015 install, and things seem to be working better. I really hate the lack of version compatibility in Inventor. Now to try to publish new content libraries.

You shouldn't have to republish any thing again. If you use the update tool under your Project/Content Center Management you should be able to update your existing custom read/write library.

These are new libraries that we never had before, and that I'm creating from scratch. I have two sets of instructions that seem to cover most of the process, so I think I can make this work.
