topic Inventor revision table. No attribute in AutoCAD in Inventor Forum

Hi! We want to pull out the meta data from the revision table. As far as we know the revision table is dead when we export the idw to a AutoCAD dwg, and only contains text and we can´t pull out meta data from the table? We have used sketch symbols to manually add a new row and then we can get a attribute in autocad. But the problem with this method is that we can´t link iproperties to a sketch symbol (all revision would get the same vaules if linked to the same iproperties)

Is there a way to get the revisiontable to have attributes in AutoCAD?

Hi,

You many if you haven't already posted this in the Inventor Customization discussion group.

I don't know if you have tried this and it is a little cumbersome. But you can create a block in AutoCAD then using the Open/Import in Inventor select the New Drawing option. This will open an Inventor idw with a symbol with the attribute name in it. You can edit the definition in Inventor. When saved back as an AutoCAD dwg it reverts back to an attribute driven block. You can after proving it out copy it to your Inventor template.
