.IV file conversion

Hi,

I am new at this!

I'm using Imaris, which is a 3d reconstruction software for microscopy data. The output form is .iv and what I really want is to extract a set of coordinates so I can use Mathematica to play around/analyze it. Is there any possible way to extract this data from an .iv file? What options do I have?

I don't think Autodesk Inventor understands .iv files. See http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-7FACB50F-ED00-419D-8C23-F98283CCD8F8

It looks like .iv files are related to Open Inventor. See http://www.openinventor.com/

Autodesk Maya and Showcase might help you convert .IV files to something readable in Inventor - see:

It has been a way from this post but did you find a way to open imaris objects in Inventor?

What other export options does imaris have?

Can it export to step/stp file? or iges/igs?

I know it can export to csv files which you could import into excel and then import that into Inventor as sketch points..

Hi @mcgyvr,

Imaris, at least the version that we have in the lab, can import Surface object as .iv or .vrml files.

As far as I know, you can only export to a .csv file the result of the Spot Detection routine.

At the very least you can import the vrml file into 3ds max then export to inventor there..
