Inventor 2017 Half Section View Bug

Self explanatory, love that pattern, but not that much. I have a model open (nice gondola rail car) with a half section view pushed to the surface of a 3D solid object. And after a bit of panning, and zooming, I get stuck with this, until I turn off half section view. This has happened 3 times now.

Inventor Professional 2017 (Build 199, 2017.2.1) 64bit. Windows 10 (Enterprise, Anniversary, updated). NVidia Quadro K5200, updated last to 369.09. In an HP Z440 workstation. 32 GB DDR4 Ram.

Has anybody seen it before, or have any fixes? And don't suggest I run software graphics, it would take all day just to view this file!

I had this happen to me yesterday. Toggle section view off and on.

Were you using any hardware in common with mine? I'm wanting to see if it is a graphics card driver or software developer issue.

I have seen this reported just a couple of times since last 2017 update.

I think Autodesk will create an "incident" soon, because there is nothing in the "known issues" or "knowledge" center about it.

Last time I've seen it it was on a Quattro 4200 GPU.

There are two things that I would like to see you test:

Update video driver to: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/108579/en-us and test
If that does not make a difference, I would like you to set Inventor to sue conservative mode:

Please test this and let us know.

Same here.
WS Dell precision T1700, Nvidia Quadro K2200 (driver updated to v. 10.18.13.6191), Windows 7/64.
Put "Conservative" in options (doesn't work).
The only way to restore video is to switch the view.

I tried a few example parts/asseblies and couldn't reproduce this issue.

Did this happen for specific files or any model you might open?

Did you see this during zooming, panning or rotating?

If you save the file when the issue happens and reopen it, will you see the issue again?

Sorry for all these questions. I am trying to find a way to reproduce it so that we could look into it.

The issue seems to appear in assemblies after using some command (e.g. setting a constrain). If you only pan/zoom/rotate everything is ok. Typically you zoom in to a couple of parts, then set a constrain. When you zoom back the most part of the assembly is covered by a gray plan. But this is sporadic.

If you can get me a data set and the steps to reproduce this, I would love to get this to our development staff.

At the present time I have not been able to replicate the issue.

same in build 233 WITH latest NVIDIA Quadro driver 375...

Turns out the pattern generates for area off screen during half section view creation. When you zoom out, it shows. Quite consistent.

No. I haven't run across one yet. It's funny how the developers have a difficult time reproducing a bug this many people can see.

We are having the same issue at Follett Corp. We are running Inventor 2017 R3 and with Nvidia Quadro K2200 with the latest available driver. See attached screen capture. Same as others are seeing. I'm hoping since so many are having this issue a fix will be available sometime soon.

Trick: change the view style to something then switch back to your view style.

Lovely, but not a solution, only a work around, and an expensive one at that for those of us who work in very large assemblies. It invites potential crashes recalculating all that. Like posted before, any command that causes a screen regenerate, can typically clean it, but we shouldn't have too.

It's horrific and still no fix? It happens to everyone in our office. It's embarrassing when trying to show customers the models in detail!!! SORT IT OUT AUTODESK!

Your the first to chime in with an AMD based graphics. This makes it for sure Microsoft's or Autodesk's issue more so than NVIDIA or AMD, but it could be all of the above.
