Hi @arkelec, thanks for raising this issue, it appears to be a defect. It looks like properties for the top-level assembly are being sent by default in this case. I'm not sure of a workaround at the moment, sorry for the inconvenience caused here. I've logged a defect (INVGEN-85115) to investigate and fix the issue.

Thanks again,

Having just installed Inventor & Revit 2026, I thought by not selecting any Custom Properties in the BIM Content Properties window, none would be present in the Revit Family Export. But a load of Custom Model Properties have been exported, even though some fields are blank.

Below are some scree grabs, Inventor Properties & Author Properties (BIM) & Revit Family Model Properties:

I want to prohibit all the the property fields marked with the red line from being exported. Is this actually possible & if so, how do I do it?

Yeah, as Rena says, from your image you shouldn't get any of those, clicking the checkbox 'Model Property' would include them.

By the way please note that the 'Include Properties' command only applies to RVT exports.

The ribbon is split into common commands, RVT and RFA sections.

Ah, right, hadn't clocked that.

So not necessary a bug, then, as I am exporting an RFA file.

Which begs the question, is it possible to prevent the custom properties form being exported when crating an RFA file, and if not, why not?

None of this information is needed, or wanted in the RFA file generated.

I have tried exporting a simplified RFA file using Inventor 2024 & 2025 & the result is the same.

Good point @SharkDesign, yes Include Properties (and other commands under the RVT section such as Placement) are only intended for RVT export. @arkelec I also noticed the issue in previous releases before this feature was added, whether or not Model Properties was checked. I'm not sure if the original intent was to send these properties by default, but it seems better to have the option in case they aren't wanted like in your case (probably only send them if Model Properties is checked), which is what the above defect will address. Really appreciate the input here, which is also linked to the defect.

For anyone wondering how to deal with this, I established a not to cumbersome work around:

Create a simplified model (.IPT).

Export as .STP.

Import .SPT as .IPT.

Manage & export via BIM interface.

I have written some iLogic, to purge all custom iProps & Parameters, so steps 2 & 3 are not strictly necessary, but those steps do facilitate the creation of RFA files for earlier versions.
