assembly

can anyone help, i have 3 parts i am trying to assemble and quiet new to this,

the curved sections go on the outside of the main panels, and the front panel goes on the flanges on the front

with a equal gap at top and bottom.

hopefully everything was drawn correct

Yopu have to attach here also the parts. The iam file doesn't bring the parts itself.

I don't understand well how you want to place the parts, place a picture, or explain better.

hi thanks for that, im struggling with this though

attached are the parts and also the end detail

i need the front panel central as you did before and also the ends going around the semi circle and sitting flush

hopefully if someone can help i will retrace the steps and learn that way

The parts aren't drawing correctly .. Quite a few errors/issues actually (casing ends too long,etc..missing dimensions/under constrained sketches)

BUT..

Here are 2 huge tips that will help with Inventor

#1-Center all parts around the origin planes (center point).. (use the born technique)..

#2-never leave a sketch not fully constrained..

There are many ways to "constrain" this but without me putting any real thought into it I did this..

and sorry about the stupidity on my part from about 10 to 25 seconds.. I wasn't thinking and had it in "insert" vs "mate" constraint option.... ignore that..

But here is 1 way of many..

I'm using a 3d connexion device.. (I have a space pilot but a space navigator is all one really needs)

I assume thats what you are talking about and why I can flip/spin/zoom/rotate,etc... fast

They are the best thing since sliced bread for 3d modeling..

Takes a few days to get used to but once you do its amazing..

I won't work without one.. Easily worth the $100 just in time saved alone..

Hi! There is a type of mate less known to the user. It is called cylindrical face mate. In Mate constraint dialog, you can hover to a cylindrical face -> select other -> the cylindrical face will be highlighted -> select another cylindrical face.

on my next part, which ive attached

when i lay it flat the curve of the folded rad sticks out the side of flat blank, how can i make this straight?
